First sail for a long time (Sat 28th). Arrived mid morning and seemed to be plenty of wind - but not much water with the small tides. Talked for too long waiting for the water to cover the sand bar but finally got a 9m kite up (and slithered accross the mud t the water - like sheet ice!). One run out and back and the wind died... Switched to the 12m kite and had some goes between the lulls, but fortunately someone knew that I really deserved a decent sail after several weekends working... and the wind came back for a couple of hours. Nothing spectacular and hard to stay upwind at times - and nearing the comfort limit in the gusts, but on the water at least. Finally gave up when I noticed that the board was actually clearing the water off the sand over the sandbar leaving a sandy trail in the water !
Stayed down for Sunday but it was never a great prospect, very strong blustery wind, not much water, and 5DegC. Did try, but a non sealing (looks punctured) strut valve in my 5.5m kite, lashing rain, and no feeling whatsoever in my fingers after several minutes faffing with it combined with the prospect of trudging through all that slippery estuary mud was just not enough potential fun...
